Android App Development

We build native Android applications with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, tested across the device and OS-version fragmentation that makes Android hard to get right.

Overview

Android development lives or dies on handling fragmentation well — different screen sizes, manufacturers, and OS versions in active use simultaneously. We test against that reality, not just a single reference device.

We build with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for new projects, following Material Design guidelines so the app feels native to Android users rather than a straight port of an iOS design.

We handle the Google Play Console side too: store listing, content rating, closed testing tracks, and staged rollouts, so launch day isn't the first time your app has faced real infrastructure.

Our Process

1

Discovery & scoping

We define core flows and the device/OS-version support matrix before development starts, so fragmentation is planned for, not discovered late.

2

Native development

Kotlin/Jetpack Compose implementation in weekly milestones, tested continuously on a spread of physical and virtual devices.

3

QA & Play Store submission

Device-matrix testing, then a guided rollout through Google Play Console's testing tracks before full release.

4

Launch support

A defined post-launch window to address device-specific issues as real usage data comes in.

FAQs

How do you handle Android's device fragmentation?

We define a supported device/OS-version matrix during discovery, then test against physical devices and emulators spanning that matrix throughout development — not only right before launch.

Do you build with Kotlin or Java?

Kotlin, for all new projects — it's Google's recommended language and reduces a whole class of null-safety bugs. We'll work in Java only when continuing an existing Java codebase.

Can you publish to Google Play on our behalf?

Yes, or we can guide your own account through the process if you'd rather retain direct ownership of the listing from day one.
